Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Nicfade (“Nicfade”, “the app”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use the Nicfade iOS app and this website. Nicfade is provided by Vincent Tietze. Full provider and postal contact details are in the Impressum. Privacy contact: quizel.support@protonmail.com.
The short version
Everything you enter in Nicfade — your plan, your pouch and craving logs, the reason you write down and your quiz answers — stays on your iPhone. The one exception is your answer to “Where did you hear about us?”, which goes to our subscription provider RevenueCat so we know which channels work. There is no account and no Nicfade server. We do not sell personal information and we do not show ads in the app. Only if you tap “Allow” in the iOS tracking prompt do we measure, together with Meta, which of our Instagram and Facebook ads led to your install and subscription.
Information stored on your device
- Quiz answers: product type, strength, pouches per day, price per can, when you use pouches, symptoms, goals, age range, how you heard about Nicfade and, if you enter one, your first name.
- Your plan, pouch and craving logs and your reason for quitting.
- Reminder settings.
This data is stored in the app's private storage on your iPhone and shared only with the Nicfade widget on the same device. It is included in your device backups under Apple's terms. You can delete it at any time in the app under Settings → Erase all data, or by deleting the app.
Notifications
Reminders are local notifications created on your iPhone. Their content is not sent to us or to anyone else.
Purchases and subscriptions
Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. Subscription status is managed by RevenueCat, Inc. For this, the app sends RevenueCat a random, pseudonymous App User ID together with purchase, subscription, app, device and store metadata (for example product, price, currency, storefront, transaction identifiers, app version, device model, operating system version and language). RevenueCat does not receive your logs or your other quiz answers. Neither we nor RevenueCat receive your payment card details. Legal basis: performance of the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
“Where did you hear about us?”
The onboarding asks where you heard about Nicfade (for example TikTok, Instagram or ChatGPT). Your answer is stored with your pseudonymous App User ID at RevenueCat so we can see which channels lead to subscriptions. It is not shared with Meta or anyone else. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in understanding which channels work (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can object at any time by emailing us.
Apple Ads measurement
If you install Nicfade after tapping an Apple Search Ads ad, Apple can tell us which campaign, ad group and keyword led to the install. To do this, the app requests an attribution token from Apple's AdServices framework and passes it to RevenueCat, which exchanges it with Apple for attribution data (such as campaign, ad group, keyword, country and click date) if Apple considers the install eligible. RevenueCat stores this together with the pseudonymous App User ID and purchase events so we can see which ads lead to trials and subscriptions and stop spending money on those that don't. This does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), is not tracking under Apple's App Tracking Transparency rules, and does not combine your data with data from other companies. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in measuring and improving our advertising (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can object at any time by emailing us.
Meta ad measurement (only with your permission)
We advertise Nicfade on Instagram and Facebook. To learn which of these ads lead to installs and subscriptions, the app contains the Meta SDK (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.; for users outside the EU, Meta Platforms, Inc.). It stays off unless you tap “Allow” when iOS asks whether Nicfade may track you. If you allow it, the app sends Meta that it was opened, together with your device's advertising identifier (IDFA), Meta's anonymous app ID and technical data such as device model, operating system and IP address. RevenueCat then reports your trial, purchase, renewal and refund events (product, price, currency) to Meta with the same identifiers. Meta may link this to your Meta account to attribute and optimise our ads; for its own processing Meta is responsible (see Meta's privacy policy). Your logs, plan, cravings and quiz answers are never sent to Meta. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG), given in the iOS prompt. You can withdraw it at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → Nicfade; from then on nothing more is sent.

Health information
Nicfade shows general information about nicotine withdrawal. It is not a medical device and does not give medical advice. What you log about your nicotine use stays on your device and is not shared with us or any provider.
Retention
Data on your device stays until you delete it. RevenueCat keeps purchase records for as long as needed to provide subscriptions, handle refunds and meet legal obligations; we can ask RevenueCat to delete the records of your App User ID on request.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the CCPA/CPRA), you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your personal data, to object to processing based on legitimate interests (including Apple Ads measurement), and to complain to a data protection authority. Because Nicfade has no accounts, most in-app data is deleted by erasing it in the app. For purchase records held by RevenueCat, email quizel.support@protonmail.com; we may ask for your App Store order number to find them. We do not sell personal information. Sharing identifiers and purchase events with Meta for ad measurement only happens after you allow tracking in iOS, and you can stop it at any time by switching tracking off for Nicfade in iOS Settings.
Children
Nicfade is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
